Where was the wars fought and why is it called the Wars of the Roses?

The wars were fought in England. The wars were called the Wars of the Roses because both the Lancastrians and the Yorkist choose different colored roses. They were from different branches of the royal family. The York were the ones that were represented with the white rose. The Lancastrians were the ones that were represented by the red rose. Which roses would you want to have. People knew which one were which because of the badges they wore they were ether white or red roses. But the Lancastrians didn’t adopt the red rose until a well after the war. 

What was some of the battles and who won them?

The first battle was the battle of St. Albans was an May 22, 1455 the Yorks ambushed the king and his men, and the Yorks won that battle. Wow I would hate to be the Lancaster at that time. The second battle was the battle of Ludford in October of 1459 when the York's forces were routed by the Lancaster. The Yorks fled to Irland. The alley's of the York's beat the Lancasters on July 10, 1461. The third battle was the battle of Wakefield the Lancasters won. There were 15 important battles.

Who fought in the Wars o fthe Roses?

The war was a civil war which means the war was fought between the same nation. The poeple who fought were branches of the English royal family the Yorkish and the Lancastran . People From Warwick fought on the side with the York. I feel sorry for the people who had to live in England during the war. King Henry VI was king at the time he was not a good ruler he got sick a lot, he was from the Lancastran branch. the war was from 1455 to 1485.

What was the cause of the War of the Roses?

The cause of the war was that King Henry VI who was from the Lancastrian's branch  became to sick to rule, so his cousin Richard ran for him, but he was from the York's branch. I would hate to be royal it doesn't seem fun at all. Too years later Henry got better and so he asked Richard to give him back his power but he said "no". So the York and the Lancastrians begin to fight over power.
